FIND THE PERFECT SIZE:
Measure the width of your frame from the inside of the temple to the inside of the other temple at the hinges
see examples / how to measure
The vast majority of frames are only available in one size. You must therefore make sure that this size will suit you because it will not be possible to change it. If a frame is available in several sizes, this will be indicated on the product sheet.
Opticians are used to distinguishing between eyeglass sizes using lens widths. For example, size 50, size 52 etc.
We believe that the total width of the frame is more efficient because it takes into account all the peculiarities of the frame such as offset temples, curved temples, the thickness of the plastic and any other element of a pair of prescription glasses. or sunglasses that can influence the overall size and appearance on your face.
The manufacturers, for their part, will indicate only 3 elements of measurements on the frame: The size of a lens, the size of the temples and the size of the bridge. These elements are usually inscribed inside one of the branches. They can also help you know what you are wearing now and even better choose your new glasses.
Their length is indicated in millimeters (mm). If you read 50 19 135 on the frame, the temples are 135 mm long. This measurement is not very important, if you currently have 135 temples, another frame with 130 or 140 temples should also be fine.
The width of the lens is the most used because it indicates the official size of the frame. This measurement is interesting because it will tell you by adding with the bridge, the space that the glasses will take on your face. But this measurement is not to be used alone, we recommend that you first consider the width of the frame (as seen above to determine size XS to XL).
The bridge is the second number in (50-20-150). It is the distance between the two glasses, where your nose goes. If the frame is fitted with pads, this measurement is not important because the pads are adjustable. If the frame is plastic without pads, then this measurement is interesting (with a margin of 2 millimeters)..
