A Pair of Glasses Can Change Everything

The good news: Poor eyesight is a problem that can be easily solved. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 80% of vision impairments can be prevented or treated.
A Simple Solution: Donate Glasses
At Visionet, we believe that a small gesture can make a big difference. That’s why we donate older glasses to someone in need. In partnership with Medico Lions Club, we support a global program aimed at providing disadvantaged communities with access to vision aids. To date, over 1.6 million pairs of glasses have been donated to those in need.
Why Is This So Important?
Imagine millions of people who cannot read, work, or enjoy daily life simply because they cannot afford a pair of glasses. A single pair of glasses can literally change a life by restoring eyesight to those in need.
Médico Lions Clubs: Giving Glasses a Second Life
In addition to our direct donations, we work closely with Médico Lions Clubs. This organization collects over 3 million pairs of glasses each year, which are cleaned, sorted, and prepared for shipment at their facility in Le Havre. The donated glasses are then distributed to people in need in developing countries.
How Does the Process Work?
Glasses that are no longer used are collected across Europe, including in France, Germany, Belgium, and other countries. After cleaning and calibrating, they are sent to ophthalmologists in countries like Africa, Asia, or South America. There, people with very limited financial means finally receive the vision aids they need.
Visionet supports this important initiative by regularly sending all unused glasses to Médico LCF. These glasses not only restore people’s vision but also significantly improve their quality of life.
